Then the doctor uses some chemicals such as glycolic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid, carbolic acid to a small area of your skin that will help create a controlled wound letting new skin to take its place.

What kind of result do you expect from your chemical peels treatment?

Results for this treatment will vary from person to person. Each person will have their own unique experience with each peel. The outcome for this treatment will usually vary on the type of peels you have used.

If it’s a superficial peel then you will experience a slight reduction in the signs of aging and skin damage, the results will be minimal unless it is used in proper cycles or on a constant basis. It is the safest approach to take for this treatment and you will feel some difference even after a single treatment.

If medium peels are used it is much effective in reducing signs of sunburn and fine wrinkles. But it also has a longer downtime than a superficial peel.

If a deep peel is used it helps in tightening the skin, eliminates the wrinkles, and the effects are literally dramatic. In this, you cannot repeat the peels again for a long time. It has the longest downtime of 2-6 weeks.
